Kryštof Brůha
ABOUT
The basis of Krystof’s work is the performance of the work itself, when the artist acts as a mediator of experience and an interpreter of the whole process. The second role played by the artist is a collector of artifacts performing a separate function of physical works of art. The first question linking these two parts together is the meaning of the action in the long and short term.
Thanks to the performance, the artist draws the viewer into the action and lends it his own insight into the dimensions that the installation opens. Furthermore, the artist, in the role of an artifact collector, combines individual performances and by his own concept bridges separate processes. In the long run, it gives the viewer the opportunity to compare individual outputs, external memory keys, and their presentation points to their common characteristics as well as unique differences.
He has been exhibiting since 2014. In 2018, he presented his student short experimental film “Prolog to Signum Supra ” at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival in Jihlava. In 2020, he received the Graphics of the Year 2019 Award in the “computer” or rather “experimental graphics” category. He lives and works in Žižkov, Prague.
